RetroArch is a frontend for emulators, game engines and media players. It enables you to run classic games on a wide range of computers and consoles through its slick graphical interface. Settings are also unified so configuration is done once and for all. The set of joypad profiles used by RetroArch can be downloaded and updated from the menu. Go to Main Menu-Online Updater-Update Autoconfig Profiles to get the latest version of the profile pack. A yellow message will appear at the bottom of the screen showing the download progress and the extraction of the archive. What is it?
Discord is a proprietary freeware VoIP application and digital distribution platform—designed initially for the video gaming community—that specializes in text, image, video and audio communication between users in a chat channel.
Discord runs on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Linux, and in web browsers. You can find the latest version in here.
How to use it?
The extended Discord RPC integration requires updated core information files for most cores currently available. You can update your core info files by following the instructions below:
- Start RetroArch.
- Go to Online Updater.
- Select Update Core Info Files.
You need an active internet connection in order to download latest files.
Afterwards, to enable the Discord integration, following the remaining instructions.
- Go to Settings ->Privacy.
- Change Enable Discord from OFF to ON..
Other than that, make sure you are running Discord on the same PC as your RetroArch client, and you have Display currently running game as a status message enabled in your Discord settings.
