Starting a new character in Borderlands 3 is something you can do on the same profile, if you want to start the game over with a different character. Not only that, but the game lets you freely swap between characters on the same profile from the main menu. The question some have posed, though is how to make a new character in Borderlands 3. Well, it’s pretty simple, and we’ll explain it all in our Borderlands 3 How to Start a New Character guide.

A list of your characters will appear in the window on the left hand side. As you can see, I only have one. In this window, you can choose which character you want to play as. As we want to delete, look in the bottom right hand corner and press the key which lets you delete a character. If you have downloaded a save file online, such as a 100% complete save, then place it into your SavedGames folder and boot up Borderlands 3. Head to the character selection screen, and the character should be available to play. Whilst it’s recommended to delete any characters from inside Borderlands 3, you can also delete them from this folder. I'm doing a fresh reinstall of the entire borderlands 2 game (Uninstall, then install again) and I wanted to know if I backupthe folder in My Games Borderlands 2 Save Data if it's all I needed to keep all my classes, badass rank and progress.

How to Start New Character on Same Profile in Borderlands 3?

To start a new character on the same profile in Borderlands, in the main menu, select New Game instead of Continue. From there, you’ll have to go through the same rigmarole you did when beginning for the first time. Select the difficulty, then choose between Coopetition and Cooperation. I regret to inform you that, yes, you’ll have to sit through all the introductory cutscenes yet again. Use the time to make a sandwich or reconnect with a loved one or something. Then, select the character you want this time around, and be on your way.

How to Switch Characters in Borderlands 3?

If you want to switch between characters on the same profile in Borderlands 3, go to the main menu, the one that pops up when you boot up the game. In the main menu, if you select Continue, you’ll resume with the last character you played as. So, instead, select Load Character. Choose the character whose story you want to continue. The game will automatically take you back to the main menu. All you gotta do now is hit Continue. You can do this freely from the main menu whenever you want.

We've listed the locations of Red Chests, Typhon Logs, Dead Claptrap Parts and Hijack Targets. We've explored the mission choices, like what happens when you side with Holder or Ramsden in On The Blood Path, or when you tell Rhys to keep or lose mustache in Atlas at Last. We've also covered secrets, like the one where you have to open the Holy Broadcast Center locked door.

You can pretty much have as many different characters as you’d like in Borderlands 2, but the menu to access your different characters isn’t exactly prominent.

If you want to change to a different character you have created, go to the main menu and look at the bottom of the screen for the button to press. It should be labeled with Select Character. On the Xbox 360 it will be the Y button, on PS3 it should be the Triangle button.
